This 3-day course will prepare students for the CEA-CompTIA DHTI+ certfication exam, which validates the knowledge and skills of home technology professionals. DHTI+ is an international, vendor-neutral certification that recognizes a technician's ability to configure, integrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and comprehend the basic design concepts of electronic and digital home systems.
On this course, students will learn how to:
- Identify what HTI is, its components, and how to design and install HTI systems
- Design and configure home network
- Install and configure audio and video components
- Install and configure telecommunications systems
- Install and set up security systems
- Install and configure control systems
- Troubleshoot home technology subsystems
Target audience
This course is for students who are preparing the CEA-CompTIA DHTI+ exam.
Before taking this course, students should already have the baseline skills and requisite knowledge for working with PC hardware, hand and tool skills, safety precautions, basic electrical awareness, local regulations and building codes. Furthermore, this course assumes that students have earned the following certifications or have equivalent experience: CompTIA A+ Certification and CompTIA Network+ certification.
