TestOut - frequently asked questions
How is TestOut provided?
TestOut is supplied as a web-enabled product, with one CD required for each student.
This enables students to study anytime, anywhere with progress and results recorded to
the Internet when their computer next connects to the web. The student can use the CD
on any computer, anywhere - as long as an internet connection is available. A
comprehensive lab manual is also included to help students work through the course.
Online activation is required for each student as they have to create an individual
account on our secure server. Instructor reporting tools enable their progress to be
monitored.
Do I need Internet access to access the content?
Yes, Internet access is required at all times when using TestOut. Although the learning
content is stored on CD, the lesson plans, student tracking and progressions are held on
our server. Students will need to be connected to the Internet at all times to maintain
access to the TestOut navigation tools and to update their records.
Can I use TestOut CDs for ever?
No. Each CD is provided with 12-months access to student navigation tools and reporting. At the end of the year, unless renewed, the student account is deleted and they will be unable to access the navigation tools. The 12-month period begins when the student activates the product on our server.
How long do is it recommended that each TestOut course takes?
We recommend that each LabSim course is scheduled to be completed in 40 hours.
What is the success rate of passing the exam after studying with TestOut?
A recent survey in the US has shown that 86% of students, who have studied for vendor-led certification exams, passed first time!
How is the student’s progress tracked?
Instructor and administrator accounts can be set up on our server. As students progress
through their course, their test results and exercise activity are recorded to our secure
server. The instructor can log on to their account to check latest progress and generate
student, class or school-level reports.
How many questions are included with ExamSim?
Approximately 200 questions per course are provided. In practice mode, the questions are drawn randomly from the question pool. The answers are also randomized in multiple-choice format to ensure the student gets a unique test each time they take it. In self-study mode, every question in the pool is presented.
Can the students study from home?
Provided they have a connection to the Internet, students can use their CD on any
computer at home or at college.
Can the instructor monitor their student’s progress from home?
Yes. All student activities are recorded centrally on our secure web server, enabling instructors to monitor student progress and performance whether they are in the classroom or at home.
Can the content be installed on an LMS?
LabSim is not currently compatible with LMS programs.
